Welcome to my online re-election campaign office!

Serving in Congress has been the greatest professional honor my life – and I am so proud to represent California’s new 19th Congressional District. With the exception of a few years when I went to Washington to work for former area Congressman Don Edwards, I have lived and worked in this community my entire life. This is where I grew up and went to school; where my husband, John, and I were married; and where we raised our children and made our home.

I am so grateful for the trust that my friends and constituents have placed in me to represent them and fight for their interests every day in the halls of Congress.

As a Senior Member on two House committees – and as Chair of the California Democratic Congressional Delegation – I work every day to champion thoughtful, practical ideas and smart, forward-thinking policy solutions that will help our community and our country. I seek solutions that will encourage economic growth; enable us as a country to meet our obligations; and invest in our future in a balanced, respectful, and fiscally responsible way.

I am proud of my record since my election to Congress in 1994 – and I am working harder than ever to ensure a free and open Internet; to fight for increased investments in all levels of education so we can create a new generation of scientists, engineers, and mathematicians; and to work to pass immigration reform that is comprehensive.

I look forward to continuing my work on these issues – and so many others that we care about – as the Representative from California’s new 19th Congressional District. But to do that, I need your continued help and support.

I hope you’ll come back and visit my online campaign office often to find out about events, keep up with my work in Congress, and join in the campaign effort as we get closer to Election Day. I can’t win without the continued help of all of my friends and supporters – and I hope you’ll be part of our team.

Thank you for your support – and I hope to see you soon.
